Steve Capoferri
Chief Executive Officer

Steve served in an alternative education school for eight years where he was Program Director for six years and a Counselor for two years. This experience gave him the background and vision for establishing River Rock Academy. He was Head Wrestling Coach at York Suburban High School for eight years, an adjunct faculty member at Elizabethtown College where he also held the position of Head Wrestling Coach for six years and Head Wrestling Coach at Millersville University for four years. Steve holds a BS in Social Work from Elizabethtown College and a Master of Science in Education from Millersville University. He enjoys golfing and is an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers fan. Steve lives with his wife and three daughters in Lancaster County.

Patti Shatto-Young
Chief Business Officer

Patti was a Team Leader and Counselor in an alternative education school for eight years. Prior to that, she served as an In-home Counselor at Family Services of York. Working with the youth of York County for ten years provided the basis for her establishing River Rock Academy. Patti holds a BA in English and Spanish with a concentration in Secondary Education from Lebanon Valley College and a Master of Science in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix. She volunteers at Logos Academy and enjoys reading, gardening, walking and watching the Steelers. Patti lives in York with her husband, son and daughter.

Robert Howard
Chief Operating Officer

Bob Howard worked in the juvenile justice field for more than 23 years. Prior to coming to River Rock, Bob served as Divisional Director at Cornell Abraxas overseeing both community-based and residential programs in Colorado, Arkansas and Pennsylvania. He was State Operations Director at VisionQuest where he oversaw their residential and community based programs. Bob holds a BA in Criminal Justice Administration from Mansfield University and a Masters in Administration of Justice from Shippensburg University. He enjoys supporting his two daughters in their athletic events and volunteers, along with his wife, for their sports booster clubs in Shippensburg.

Travis Wildasin
Director of Clinical Services

Travis was a Clinical Director and Transition Coordinator at River Rock before beginning his current position. His previously worked as a Counselor at Hanover High School and for the LIU #12 in an alternative education setting. Travis received his BS in Sports Management from York College and Masters Degree in School Counseling from McDaniel College. He enjoys basketball, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. Travis lives in McSherrystown with his wife and young son.

Jarelle Smoker
Controller

Jarelle's career as an accounting professional includes experience in banking, retail and manufacturing. Jarelle holds a BS in Business Administration from Millersville University. He volunteers as a Little League coach for softball and baseball and enjoys golfing, volleyball and running. Jarelle lives in Lancaster County with his wife, son and two daughters.

Kara Alosi

Kara previously worked at VisionQuest as Business Manager, Human Resources Manager and Operations Manager. She has a BS in Business Administration from Elizabethtown College. Kara lives in Shippensburg where she enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband and young son.

Wendy Capoferri

Wendy was Public Service/Special Events Director at FOX 43 and Public Relations Director at Lancaster Country Day School. She has a BA in Communications from Elizabethtown College. Wendy volunteers at her church as a member of the Children’s Ministry Team. She enjoys traveling, reading, exercising and spending time with family. Wendy lives in Lancaster County with her husband and three daughters.

Barbara Rodgers

Barb has been with River Rock since its first year of operation. She previously worked in an alternative education school and in the printing industry in both York and Lancaster. Barb has an art background and is a published author and illustrator. She does freelance graphic design and writing and is also very active in her church working on various projects. Barb has one daughter and lives in Hellam with her husband and West Highland Terrier.

Seth Yost

Seth is a graduate of ITT Technical Institute where he earned an Associate Degree in Networking. Seth enjoys drag racing and his favorite team is Summit. He is a confessed computer junkie. Seth lives in Dover with his wife, two sons and daughter.
